Riley Arena Bring Junior B Hockey to Cody

The Riley Arena is a new home for Junior B Hockey. The arena is planning to take over a team formerly based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The team will compete in the Northern Pacific Hockey League against teams from Bozeman, Helena, Butte, and Billings. They also compete with 12 other teams from Washington and Oregon. We are excited to bring new event into the community and hope to possitivily impact the Park County Economy.

Pro Shop Renovation



The Arena Pro Shop is currently being redone to better server our customers. We have just removed the door seen in the background and extending the shop into what was once the old PCYHA hockey office. This will allow us to hold more items to serve your needs. We will also be getting the newest brands such as Reebok and Sher-wood in the fall of 2006. Come check it out!

On June 10th there will be a floor hockey tournament. The cost will be $10 per person. Sign your team up at the Riley Arena.

Tournament Information-
The games will be age. Elementary, Middle, and High School & Older will be the age ranges. These are based on the 05-06 school season. The games will be two 10 minute periods with a half time of 5 minutes. Each game will have one official. All penalties will result in 1 minute in the penalty box. All fighting or intentional body contact will result in a game & tournament ejection with no money refund. Contact Taylor Bednarz are 307-250-3613 if you have any further questions.

Billings Gazette Publishes Zamboni Move

Larry Liebel drives a Zamboni from the Riley Ice Arena along Sheridan Avenue in Cody Thursday morning. With hockey season ending, Liebel was moving the Zamboni to Shoshone First Bank, where it will be stored until July, when it will be used to condition new ice for summer youth hockey camps.

Sportsmen Convention Huge Success



The Wyoming Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife convention was a success at the Riley Arena this spring. This is an overview photo of the banquet, which was held Saturday with an attendence of over 700.

Ice Cats Bring Home Two State Championships


Ice Cats Bantams and Peewees brought home two State Championships this year. The High School team took 5th and Squirts took 4th in their division Tournaments. On November 23rd the Billings Gazette ran an article on hockey and figure skating at the Riley Arena.

Winters in Wyoming can be unpredictable, but from October through March, the weather inside Cody's Riley arena is always perfect for ice skating.

Since opening five years ago, the arena at the Cody Quad Center has become a popular winter playground for hockey players, figure skaters and anyone who wants to take to the ice without taking a chance on the elements outside.
